Putting Sciatica and Pregnancy Together for Women

from:

Many times when women are pregnant, they will have many problems with their sciatica nerve acting up. In fact, many women that do not normally have sciatica problems will still have problems in the pregnancy and vice versa. However, if a woman has sciatica problems before a pregnancy, more often than not, she will have further problems during the pregnancy.

Many times when women have sciatica problems and they want to get pregnant, they seldom put sciatica and pregnancy together. In fact, they usually over look their whole problem with their sciatica nerve. When in fact, they should think more about sciatica and pregnancy! Most often, when a woman is pregnant, the pain from her sciatica nerve may double or triple in pain due to the baby resting on the abdomen and lower back in the uterus. However, if a woman does not have problems with her sciatica nerve, this does not mean that she won't during the pregnancy! In fact, no one ever knows if they will have a problem until it occurs, especially when dealing with the sciatica and pregnancy!

When planning your pregnancy and thinking about your sciatica and pregnancy at the same time, there are many things that you can do to prevent any problems occurring. In fact, there are many things that you can do for yourself or you can easily have a professional help with when dealing with a sciatica and pregnancy at the same time.

One of the best ways to prevent any problems with your sciatica and pregnancy both are to sleep in a nice firm bed. In fact, sleeping in a firm bed is one of the best things that you can do not only for your sciatica but for your back, as well! Another thing that you can do is to not sleep on your stomach, as it can hurt your nerve as well as your baby!

When a pregnant woman has problems with her sciatic nerve, it usually starts on the lower back or buttocks and then travels down the back of the legs as well as down in the calves and heels. However, many women tend to usually have pains in their feet first. Because of being pregnant, one of the best ways to relieve the pain is by stretching and exercising; at least twice a day. For a last resort, many women take an acetaminophen to relieve the pain.

When caring for your sciatica and pregnancy, it is important that you remember that you are not only taking care of one person but two people! Therefore, you should always take the safest route!
